Do I Need to Own a Ukulele Before Starting?

We primarily teach soprano and concert ukulele, which are the most common and beginner-friendly sizes. Tenor ukulele is also an option for older students or those looking for a slightly larger instrument and fuller sound.

Ukulele is an excellent first instrument for younger students — often recommended as young as age 5 due to its size and ease of play. It’s a great way to build confidence and foundational musical skills before transitioning to other instruments if desired.

You don’t need one for your first lesson, but you’ll want one soon after. Ukuleles are relatively affordable, and your teacher can recommend a good quality beginner instrument.
