Special Events

At Melody Music Co-Op, learning doesn't stop at the lesson. We host regular events throughout the year that celebrate our students, expand musical horizons, and bring our community together.

1 / Masterclasses

Learn from real-world music professionals — no matter where you are.

Twice a year, in August and February, Melody Music Co-Op hosts special masterclasses led by guest experts from across the music world. These are not typical lessons — they're interactive sessions designed to open doors to corners of music you may never have encountered before.

Past and upcoming topics have included Tibetan singing bowls with a practitioner based in Nepal, the world of professional tour management, how jazz piano and jazz culture differ from the classical tradition, and much more. Our guest speakers are working professionals — performers, educators, and industry insiders — who bring real-world expertise directly to your screen.

Masterclasses are offered via Zoom and are open to all of our students, both online and in-home, across all ages and instrument levels. There is no fee to attend, but advance registration is required as space is limited.

2 / Student Recitals

A moment to shine — and a memory that lasts.

very May and November, we celebrate our students with a recital that's equal parts performance and celebration. Each recital features around 10–15 students performing a memorized piece they've been working toward — a real milestone in any musician's journey.

Performances run approximately 30 minutes, followed by an optional interactive musical game that everyone is welcome to join. Our recitals are relaxed, warm, and genuinely fun — no stiff concert hall energy here.

Families, friends, and anyone who loves live music are more than welcome to attend. We host our recitals online via Zoom, which means grandparents, cousins, and friends from anywhere in the world can cheer your student on in real time.
